Demi and her team have the care and support that they need, but it is not the right time for them to present this piece of work in this context. Demi is obsessed with childhood trauma: naming it, analysing it, healing from it, and getting on stage to perform it. (You can decide if that last one is a trauma response). Entering her 30s, Demi expected to be more whole, more healed, to not still feel like a child. Trauma lives in the body; the body keeps the score and we all know what that means.
