Mixing documentary footage, storytelling, and live-music, The Death & Life of All of Us is a funny and moving exploration of family secrets, shame, and embracing our imperfections.
At 19, Victor found his long-lost great-aunt Marcelle in Rome. She'd moved from Judaism to Christianity, Lebanon to Italy, changed her name and kept a life-long secret. He started making a documentary about her. 20 years later, he still hasn’t completed it...

Fresh from its sell-out premiere at Soho Theatre, London. Recipient of a Camden People’s Theatre seed commission.

Victor Esses returns to Summerhall, after the critically acclaimed Where to Belong:
"Profound questions of family and identity, shame and tolerance, what we are and what we present, and who gets to choose." ★ ★ ★ ★ The Arts Desk
“A beautiful story spanning continents and generations” ★★★★★ A Younger Theatre
